Why do I even post these lineups? Bung hole Shelty is playing a Sunday lineup after a night game. He is not an MLB manager his counterpart in Cincy sure is and could teach Shelty some basic baseball.

They won't win the game but they will impress us with their positional versatility.
Hunter Greene was very good last year and currently has an ERA of 1.31 after 3 starts with just 10 hits and 3 walks in 20.2 innings. Shelton's lineup suggests he's throwing in the towel and just wants to see how some players look at different positions. OTOH, his options are limited. There is no lineup he could make that would look good.

7 out of 9 are hitting less that 0.200
Reynolds barely over at 0.203
Has to be one of the worst performing lineups ever presented to an umpire

have to say I am very close to be disinterested in this season. Rarely checking in on games, haven't watched any on television. I think the decline of the Pirates has finally beaten me.
Not only are they a bad team but they are boring except when Skenes pitches (with him there is a chance for lots of strikeouts and a no-hitter).
Looks like this team can't score, can't hit for power, can't hit for average, doesn't draw enough walks to have a good obp, A bad team that has been bad for years but still hasn't had an exciting rookie hitter since Reynolds.

Just imagine how bad the Pirates would be had Nutting not given them everything he could, and the Front Office hadn’t worked like dogs, during the offseason to create a championship-type club. I mean, they might be well under .500 by now.

that thought is why I am only very close. if they had not done all that prep I may not have even paid any attention this season. I still have a little hope that Matt Hague can make a big difference!

Bucs with two hits and eight strikeouts through six innings. I’ll say one thing, game to game, these guys are remarkably consistent.

I admit that they’ve already begun to wear me down, which is much earlier than usual. I look at the line-up everyday and am immediately discouraged. I have so little hope that they can win any game they play, even when Skenes pitches, because they can’t score.
