Still not an excuse. He had a good game last night with the key hit.



McCutchen has been bad at reading balls off the bat while on the bases too. Two times in a row he held up in advancing. Luckily, last night he made it home.

Other players have slumped without there being some off field problem. If only it were so easy to ascertain the cause of a slump. If Kang's mind is so focused elsewhere that he is incapable of hitting, then he needs time off. But Cutch has slumped all season without being accused of anything. Just because we see something as a possible explanation doesn't mean it has to be the explanation.
