Dibble is a moron.   He's a perfect example of how diluted the quality of programming has become with all of the new digital media.

Agreed on that point.  What a judgmental hotshot!

This whole thing with Strasburg is a bit scary though -  they've got so much money tied up in him, can they even play him for fear of injury?  My point is, would another pitching prospect be shut down given the same physical condition?  If not, maybe Dibble has a point. And if not, it makes owning his rights for the next five years considerably less valuable.

Rob Dibble is the definition of a punk.  He threw at a guy with his back turned running down the first base line.  He also hit a pregnant woman in the stands throwing a fit.

He has missed at least two full seasons due to injury too.

He did get his **** kicked by his manager (Piniella) so Karma evened things out a little bit.

Rendon had his cast removed on Monday:

On Aug 28th, with shaky pitching in the forecast, the Pirates' 2 game lead in the all important lost column looks good.

And 3 games back in the win column, that will be even harder to make up.  Plus since the Pirates had a higher draft position this year I believe that gives us the tiebreaker over the O's for the No. 1 pick if it comes to that.

4 games up on the O's, and the O's are winning after 7....

In addition, this sort of sloppy, hopeless finish will almost surely doom the Russell administration at the end of the season.  So, we get the #1 choice and new manager to boot.

The Bucs keep playing like this, they will clinch the #1 pick by mid September.

Raise the Jolly Roger has it at 28.  With the way we are playing we may lose them all too.

This is the perfect finish to a miseable season.
The Bucs have a 5 game lead in the loss column on the O's.
JR is managing perfectly!
The Bucs will get Rendon and JR will get the axe.

I think it is safe to say that everyone would agree the Pirates will lose 100 games.  That means AT BEST the Pirates would go 19-13 which seems impossible.  But even if you give the Pirates 62-100, that menas the O's would have to 13-18 the rest of the way to have a worse record than the Pirates since I think the Pirates get the tiebreaker.  I cannot imagine the Pirates having 6 more wins than ANY team the rest of the way.
