My philosophy is like the movie Highlander...."There can be only one"

Using myself as an example, I voted for Lincoln at #2, but I know that Tabata is not my #3 so I wouldn't want to automatically anoint him as such.  I'm sure there are others with similar feelings on who they want to be #3.  It looks like Tabata will be #2, so maybe someone doesn't want Lincoln at 3.

Everyone should have a say to vote for their player, even if they don't have a reasonable shot at winning that particular poll.  I know my #3 won't beat Lincoln/Tabata, but I'm voting for him anyway and will defend my reasoning.

It is your poll so you can run it any way you choose.  But I don't see how the loser of the runoff won't be the overwhelming number three.  I think the vast majority of the votes cast for the winner will then go to the player that lost the runoff for the next position.  I understand it won't be unanimous and some will have someone else in mind.  We shall see how it plays out.  If the loser does not end up number three, I will be as surprised as the entire world was that Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize!

This is unrelated to this specific vote, but is there any way that this site's software would allow us to see who voted for each prospect?  It's more curiosity than anything...

in my opinion, this is definitely the right way to proceed.  i want to vote alderson number 3 and i want to see how many tabata voters vote for alderson.  i agree that i think lincoln will definitely be third (if not second of course) but a lot of the fun of the poll is to see how all the votes go, not just who wins which ranking.  if tabata gets in at two, maybe alderson can pull 25 votes against lincoln, or maybe he'll still only get about 10.  we'll see.

Tony Sanchez will be shocking the world when he comes in and steals the #3 spot.

The previous Lincoln voters must be from the west coast precincts given the lopsided runoff so far.

That was my personal choice for #3, but it looks like I'll be voting for Lincoln in the next poll.

Isn't it more fitting if Sanchez was the #4 pick though?  Especially when some curmudgeon on the forum mentions that he was "over-ranked" at #4.

I hated the Sanchez pick immediately after it happened, but I have to admit that Sanchez and his approach to the game are growing on me.  I still haven't decided whether I'll vote Sanchez or Lincoln at #3.

Yeah - I may be throwing away my vote, but I'm rolling with Sanchez from here on out until he gets picked.  He just looks like a gamer to me and really has turned things around since he decided to attack his weight issue.  I was among those that was crying "same old Pirates" when he was picked but the logic now makes sense and his early showing in the minors really turned my opinion around on him.

I stayed with tabata. I believe he hits at least 15 homers in AAA next year. I also, think we should have the vote for the 3rd pick. Lincon or tabata should win, but it is interesting to see the votes.

I'll go with Tabata again. I think he's a better prospect because he's younger. That's my story and I'm sticking with it.

We can't assume that the loser of this poll will be the #3.  We don't know who the people that voted for the eventual #2 will vote for in the #3 poll.  It could Sanchez or Alderson or Owens or ...Walker.

I voted Tabata the first time and stuck with him.  Age and the more predictable projectability of position players were the key factors.  And I probably will go Lincoln at #3, but Sanchez and Marte will also get my consideration.

GGG said: ""Just out of curiosity, what's wrong with ties?""

Well, GGG, it depends on the kind of tie, and the suit you're wearing with it. For example, There was plenty wrong with Dave Littlefield's off-yellow ties. And bow ties are just so nerdish. If you're wearing a stiped shirt, it's best to go with a solid tie.
